Perks of being a Wallflower

Stephen Chbosky writes Perks of being a Wallflower through a collection of letters than Charlie sends to a friend. I like how he wrote this way because then you really know what Charlie is thinking and feels. It helps you really get to know Charlie bettter than just reading a story from third person. I also like how the book is written because you can see time slowly go by, each letter has the date on it. Some letters are random things about Charlie that help you get to know him better. The only problem with writing this way (although it could also be seen as a plus) is that you only get to see the story through Charlie's point of view. Charlie seems like he always tries to be very honest, so you know that he's telling the truth when writes. I think that it was a good idea to write a book through letters because many books now aren't written that way, and its more creative and interesting written this way.

Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet are in love with each other but both their families despise each other.  I think that their families are both being stubborn, and because of them their servants and most people of the city have taken sides: Montague or Capulet. Romeo and Juliet should be able to tell their parents how they feel and not have to hid their love just because their families disapprove of them being together. Why should they have to hate each other because of their parents fight? Also Romeo and Juliet are both being a bit dramatic, saying they love each other but it was the same day they met. I think that they both really do like each other but love is a strong feeling for two teenagers who just met each other. Not to mention that Romeo was completely heartbroken the same day over Rosaline. I think that they were overreacting, but if I was Romeo or Juliet I think I could understand how they felt. Overall I think that Romeo and Juliet is a good story about important emotions and mistakes that we should try and learn from.

Perks of a Wallflower, movie or book?

Recently I finshed reading the book Perks of a Wallflower, so I decided to go and watch the movie.

I really loved reading the book because I can imagine how the characters look and theres more to think about than in a movie. But I also loved the movie because the acting is exellent. In the very end of Perks of a Wallflower, before Sam leaves for collage (spoiler) Sam and Charlie kiss. Then they talk about how Sam wants to be with someone who likes her for the real Sam and how Charlie, even though is trying to be a good friend doesn't always make the best choices. In the movie I found the scene confusing because they cut a lot of the important lines out of the movie. I definitely loved the book and the movie but I like the book better than the movie. I liked the book better because Charlie is a really complex character and so are all of his friends and his family and in a two hour movie they couldn't include all of the important details that they included in a two hundred page book.
